Helen Doutty (she/her)

Helen is an empathetic and warm clinical psychologist who is dedicated to empowering and supporting clients to effectively navigate a variety of mental health difficulties and life challenges. She is an effective motivator and communicator who considers the development of a strong client-therapist relationship to be essential in effectively meeting the client’s needs and goals. She has a collaborative, strengths-based approach which fosters respect and openness to client’s individual journeys. 
 

She has worked across a broad range of settings, including hospitals, community mental health, charity organisations, school settings and private practice. She has clinical experience in supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotional dysregulation, grief, life transitions and adjustments, communication difficulties, attachment/relational difficulties and post-natal mental health. 
 

Helen incorporates a range of evidenced based therapeutic modalities including Schema Therapy (ST), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP). Helen also has experience with the Circle of Security Parenting Program and Gottman’s emotion coaching.
 

Helen has completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and gained an endorsement in clinical psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. Sessions with Helen are eligible for Medicare rebates.

 

You can see Helen at the Rozelle Clinic on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays. She also sees clients via telehealth on Fridays.
