Dr Daniel Mullens

Daniel is co-Director of the The Mind Clinic and specialises in treating anxiety disorders, depression and emotional dysregulation in children, adolescents and adults through a warm and personable approach. Daniel has experience working with the Child Youth Mental Health Service team at Royal North Shore Hospital where he has developed his ability to effectively treat diverse mental health presentations in children and adolescents using multiple sources to better understand young people’s mental health concerns and tailor management strategies for both individuals and families. Daniel also has experience working in private psychiatric hospitals with adults diagnosed with personality, mood and substance abuse disorders, providing individual and group therapy. Daniel has also worked with children, adolescents, families and adults in private practice where he has developed valuable skills in the assessment and intervention of a wide variety of mental health presentations. Further to this, Daniel has worked as a therapist and in research at the renowned Centre for Emotional Health Clinic at Macquarie University, which has a specific focus on anxiety treatment, and The University of Newcastle’s Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory where he gained experience in how to integrate information from a scientific, research and therapeutic basis to best achieve outcomes. Daniel has published a number of research articles in international journals, which together formed the content of his PhD, with a focus on learning; Daniel's work has clinical implications for cognitive deficits and attentional control in schizophrenia. Daniel works with clients in an open, respectful and collaborative way utilising evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). Daniel works at the Rozelle Clinic on Mondays through to Thursdays.

Eloise Fallon

Eloise enjoys working with people from all ages and stages in life. She is a warm, respectful and collaborative therapist and aims to create a safe and nonjudgmental space in sessions. Eloise works children, adolescents, parents & their families with concerns such as anxiety (including OCD & selective mutism), depression, emotion dysregulation, issues at school, family relationship difficulties, self-esteem and traumatic experiences. Eloise works with adults who are experiencing relationship difficulties, adjusting to life stages/changes, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, burnout, perinatal & postnatal support & sleep issues Eloise has worked in mental health services for 10 years and private practice for 5 years. She uses an attachment focused and systemic approach in understanding people and their relationships. The therapy modalities she uses include Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and the Circle of Security (COS) parenting program. Eloise is also an approved workcover provider. Eloise is returning to our Caringbah clinic on February 20, 2025 and will be working Thursdays and Fridays.

Lara Guberman

Lara has a warm and curious manner as a therapist and aims to create a collaborative relationship with clients, because she believes they are the agents of their own change. Lara uses an integrative model of therapy drawing on evidenced based treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT [looking at our thoughts and behaviours]) and Mindfulness-based therapy (how we feel in the present), in combination with psychodynamic psychotherapy (thinking about our unconscious needs and desires). Lara realises that there is no one size fits all treatment model and therefore adapts her way of working to the individual. Lara’s core therapeutic principles are rooted in existential philosophy, attachment theory and trauma informed models of care. Lara is a registered psychologist with clinical endorsement. She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and Honours degree in Psychology from Macquarie University. Lara is a member of IARPP and is also a work cover accredited psychologist. Lara sees clients at the North Sydney Clinic on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Sara Scott

Sara is an experienced clinical psychologist who works with adults and adolescents and is interested in treating all forms of anxiety including fears relating to performance or social occasions, phobias, and panic attacks; in problems related to mood, self-esteem, perfectionism, and relationship difficulties; in behavioural issues including procrastination and compulsions; and in difficulties related to body image and disordered eating. Sara also enjoys working with parents to support them in addressing concerns that they may have for their child or adolescent. In working with her clients, Sara is primarily concerned that they feel heard and gain a good understanding of the factors that have fuelled their current difficulties. Her goal is to form a partnership which empowers and supports her clients to implement the changes necessary to move forward in their lives. Sara has training and experience with a variety of therapy interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT); plus in the area of Eating Disorders, she has experience in delivering Family Based Therapy (FBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM). In her work with parents, Sara complements her ABFT training with adherence to Bowen theory and principles. She is also qualified to deliver the Circle of Security Parenting Program. Prior to joining The Mind Clinic, Sara spent three years working with Child and Youth Mental Health Services at Royal North Shore Hospital. She also has previous experience in private practice and working in a specialised anxiety treatment unit. Sara completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of New South Wales and her undergraduate Honours degree in Psychology at Sydney University. Sara works at the Caringbah clinic on Mondays and Thursdays, and at the Rozelle clinic on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Phillip Raneri

Phillip is a compassionate and empathetic clinical psychologist devoted to working with clients of all ages. At the heart of Phillip's therapeutic approach is client-centred therapy, which places the individual's needs and goals at the forefront of the treatment process. Whether it's managing symptoms of anxiety, mood disorders, sleep problems, behavioural challenges, stress, or interpersonal difficulties, he is committed to helping his clients overcome these challenges and live their most fulfilling lives. Phillip's dedication to evidence-based practices ensures that his clients receive the most effective and tailored interventions. He utilises Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to foster personal growth and lasting positive change. He also works within an attachment informed lens and focuses on supporting parents and children to improve family relationships. Further, Phillip’s experience spans diverse settings including schools, public youth health services, NDIS providers, and private practice. He has collaborated with renowned researchers and practitioners in the field of gender and sexuality diversity and has experience supporting gender diverse individuals understand their identity and navigate their transitions. As a part of his commitment to comprehensive care, he also offers Psychometric Assessments which play a vital role in understanding cognitive abilities, academic achievement skills and learning needs. He has experience assessing a range of concerns such as specific learning disabilities and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Phillip completed his Master of Clinical Psychology at The University of Tasmania and is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist. Phillip sees clients in the Rozelle Clinic on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Sarah Nguyen

Sarah is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist, who is genuinely curious about getting to know her clients beyond their mental health difficulties. She adopts an open and non-judgmental approach in her work and believes in the importance of providing validation whilst also working towards change. She uses a combination of evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based approaches. Sarah provides individual therapy for adult clients and older adolescents (16 years and over). She particularly enjoys working with anxiety disorders (e.g., specific phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, generalised anxiety), obsessive compulsive disorder, and emotion dysregulation. She delivers trauma-informed care and is motivated to equip her clients with practical coping strategies to manage their distress. Sarah completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology, Sydney and holds a clinical psychology endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia. She is also a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor for student psychologists. Sarah has experience working in hospitals and non-government organisations, facilitating group therapy programs for anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorders and substance use disorders. Sarah is currently on leave.

Zoë is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and has a Masters and PhD in Psychology from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. Zoë is passionate about working with parents, teenagers and young adults. In addition to private practice, she has worked in both high schools and primary schools as a School Counselor, in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and has lectured in Early Childhood at Macquarie University. Zoë has also worked with disadvantaged adolescents and in early intervention supporting families with a child on the Autism Spectrum. At the Mind Clinic, Zoë conducts intellectual (IQ), educational and ADHD assessments, in addition to assessing school readiness. Zoë also has extensive experience treating young people, adolescents and families for behaviour change and mood difficulties, and believes in fostering a strong therapeutic alliance with an empathic, emotion focused approach. Zoë conducts assessments in Rozelle on Thursdays and sees families and clients on Fridays in North Sydney.

Jasmin Schlage

Jasmin is a warm and open clinical psychologist who aims to develop a collaborative therapeutic relationship with all of her clients. She has experience working with children, parents, young adults, and older adults experiencing a variety of difficulties including anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, ADHD, and child-behavioural difficulties. Jasmin draws from several evidence-based frameworks to best meet each clients’ needs and personal goals. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Given her previous work at the Child Behaviour Research Clinic, Jasmin also has experience providing Behavioral-Attachment-Systems Interventions for parents of children with oppositional behaviour and conduct difficulties. She is passionate about working together with parents to improve child behaviour and parent-child relationships. Jasmin is a fully registered psychologist with an clinical psychology endorsement. She completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Psychology with First-class Honours at Western Sydney University. Jasmin works at the Rozelle Clinic on Wednesdays through to Saturdays.

Ilana Cohn

Ilana is a warm and dedicated clinical psychologist who works collaboratively with her clients to tailor therapy to each person’s needs. In addition to managing symptoms and feelings of distress, she believes therapy can benefit people by providing a non-judgemental space to understand the deeper causes underlying their difficulties. Ilana’s approach is integrative, working within a psychodynamic framework while drawing upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. Ilana has worked with individuals and delivered group programs across hospital, community, and private settings. She has experience with a range of issues such as anxiety and depression, stress, relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, grief and loss, substance use, emotion regulation difficulties, and complex trauma. She has a special interest in intergenerational trauma and has published research in this area. Ilana holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Technology Sydney. She also has degrees in Arts, Law, and Education from the University of New South Wales. Ilana is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP). Ilana works at the Rozelle Clinic on Mondays through to Thursdays.

Helen Doutty

Helen is an empathetic and warm clinical psychologist who is dedicated to empowering and supporting clients to effectively navigate a variety of mental health difficulties and life challenges. She is an effective motivator and communicator who considers the development of a strong client-therapist relationship to be essential in effectively meeting the client’s needs and goals. She has a collaborative, strengths-based approach which fosters respect and openness to client’s individual journeys. She has worked across a broad range of settings, including hospitals, community mental health, charity organisations, school settings and private practice. She has clinical experience in supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotional dysregulation, grief, life transitions and adjustments, communication difficulties, attachment/relational difficulties and post-natal mental health. Helen incorporates a range of evidenced based therapeutic modalities including Schema Therapy (ST), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP). Helen also has experience with the Circle of Security Parenting Program and Gottman’s emotion coaching. Helen has completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and gained an endorsement in clinical psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. Sessions with Helen are eligible for Medicare rebates. You can see Helen at the Rozelle Clinic on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays. She also sees clients via telehealth on Fridays.

Lauren Cheng

Lauren is a warm and approachable psychologist who has been working in the disability field for over 10 years. She has extensive experience working with clients of all ages and specializes in assessments. Over the years, she has gained experience working with children in day care centres, private school, psycho-educational service on autism, hospital and diagnostic centres. She strongly believes in providing accurate assessment outcomes for clients to help them better understand their strengths and challenges, and to guide their interventions accordingly. She communicates with families in a respectful and sensitive manner and she is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Lauren completed a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University (Melbourne) and is currently endorsed as a board approved psychology supervisor. At the Mind Clinic, Lauren will provide assessments for cognitive skills, academic/achievement abilities, specific learning disabilities, and attention/deficit hyperactivity disorder. Dr Frances Gibson

Frances Gibson has over 35 years of professional experience in psychological practice, research, teaching and supervision. She is endorsed for practice in both Educational and Developmental and Counselling Psychology and was the recipient of the 2013 Award of Distinction from the College of Educational and Developmental Psychology. Her practice areas have focused on psychological diagnostic assessment regarding developmental and behavioural difficulties and disorders, as well as giftedness, in young children and learning disabilities in school aged children and adults. For the past six years Frances has supervised Master of Clinical Psychology students in Psychometric Assessment at University of Sydney, as well as, working as a private practitioner. As such, Frances values providing clients with detailed, interpretative assessment reports that are inclusive of individualised recommendations. Frances works as an advisor on all child and adult Psychometric Assessments undertaken at The Mind Clinic.
